Magazine audience research

Here is a questionnaire that I handed out to make target audience in order to get their view point on what they think a horror magazine should contain on it. By doing this research it has come in very handy as I can now determine what it is that my target audience would want to see and what would draw them in to purchase the magazine. So I created a questionnaire with open questions on it and I gave it out to five boys and five girls, so it was more generalizable as I had an equal spilt of boys and girls.
Here is one of the questionnaires that I have had
my target audience fill out. I got them to do this
so I could ensure that my magazine appeals to
my target market.
This is what the questionnaire looked like before
it had been filled out by my participants.
From doing this I have discovered that dark colours are key for interpreting and fitting well with the conventions of a horror film. Also a good use of shadowing gives the magazine a more sinister look and makes it more mystery, making you want to watch it more, or read about it. Within my magazine cover I am going to aim to use red, black and grey to portray the connotations of death and danger. I also feel these colour will make it look more fearful and intrigue my target audience, as I now know that thing colours with attack my audience.
