Here is a spider diagram that me and Amber did to help us construct ideas for a narrative and a place for a setting, or various settings. for some of the ideas we came up with we even thought about who we could use as characters. The locations that are on the diagram are locations that I found online that are either really old or abandoned and they have an eerie atmosphere which is what we need to fit with the conventions of a thriller. I also mentioned how I want to incorporate a pan shot of an old abandoned building, from all the trailers that I have looked and seen have a shot of the location included.
These are just some ideas we came up with that would fit with the conventions of a psychological horror, and would make the audience feel afraid. Also one thing I have learnt from researching psychological horrors is that something usually occurs that could realistically happen to the audience. So using these setting we have picked is good because they're available to the general public, and ideas for what the characters could be doing are all realistic, because we have have written next to them who would be able to do them. For example the crazed ballet dancer, who would be covered in blood, we could use one of our friends as she is a ballet dancer, and when she was asked she said she would be willing to help. However because we haven't fully decided our narrative we don't know if that will fit with the narrative we finalise on. So once we have decided our narrative we will then develop further on our ideas.
Me and my group our going to arrange a time we are all free to discuss ideas for characters, narrative, props, and location so that we are all happy with what we choose.
