Psychological Horror Research

We have decided to create a psychological horror from our trailer, as we think this is the one we would be able to make more creative and realistic. We feel paranormal and slasher would be to difficult to make look real and profession, because of the props used and all the special effects make up used.

Seven is a very famous psychological horror, with the characters Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt in it, and a serial killer, leaving clues behind at the scene of he crime about the seven deadly sins. The seven deadly sins are religious so this could be something for my group to consider putting in our narrative, or putting hints to something religious within our trailer.

Psychological horrors tend to consentrate on day to day life, for example in the 'Seven' trailer we get to see the day to day routines of an American police office. Psychological horrors are also usually based on true events, and my research into horrors based on true events will come in very helpful when choosing our narrative, because then we can decide if we want o base our narrative on a previous crime. This gives the audience the impression it can happen in their lives and this makes it more scarier for the audience, and this adds enigma which makes you want to watch it more to find out what happens.
